GIS Sync Steps
- Upload GIS data to SmartMAP using GIS Sync Toolbar
- Ensure that only the latest dataset is open when doing the upload, as it will send the data from the dataset(s) you have open
- Open https://smartmap.utilismart.comand view the GIS Sync page à GIS Sync Failures
- This list will show any items which were received by SmartMAP through the GIS Upload which are missing expected data fields
- Update GIS expected fields, then re-upload the data. The GIS Sync Failures list should now be empty
For the first few iterations, I would like to handle the last steps on my side, after that, when the list will only include incremental changes, we can change that.
The final steps are:
- Use the Import System Model button to point sync to the latest SmartMAP model (this will ensure it considers any changes which were made directly in SmartMAP after the latest model build)
- The list of changes will be updated to include only the items in GIS which did not match what was already in the model. It will specify whether the change is to Add, Remove or Update the item. By pressing the button, you can see details on the change
- The ‘Use Default Action’ is then used to ignore changes from GIS which are not desired. This is common in the first iterations which I will be handling, because there are some details around your stations and with some connections which are modeled differently in SmartMAP. If no changes were made in SmartMAP, since the last GIS update, all changes can usually be applied.
- The model is then exported, and can be opened to view in SmartMAP and saved as the new system model. (this step will be streamlined soon)
