Import Loads (.CSV)

Modified on Fri, 7 Jan, 2022 at 2:13 PM

Sometimes the load data you want to use for analysis is not load data from an actual date & time in the past, so Import System Loads won't do.  This is usually the case when performing detailed load forecasting during analysis.

With a .CSV which contains Meter Number and Load, you can quickly import into SmartMAP using the Import Loads tool.

1. Select Analysis -->Loads-->Import Loads and point to the .CSV you will be importing from

2. Create your file mapping by selecting each field, and defining the Data Type.  Any extra fields can be ignored by leaving the Data Type as None.

3. While Import System Loads the default was to 'Delete All...', here 'Delete existing load data on nodes where new data is imported' is usually the best option, since we usually want to retain the System loads imported ahead of this import, but replace any loads imported in a previous iteration of this Import Loads process.

4. The Load Import dialog should have a success value equal to the number of meters or transformers you were importing loads for, if it is lower, a corresponding node may not exist in the model using the Data Type Link defined.  If it matches, press No to continue.

Done, all loads are created without having to open each individual load to manually define/update the value in SmartMAP.
