There are two ways to perform a on request read through UDM. You can do this via the Device Map and the Data View tab.
Device Map Option
When you first log into UDM you will need to get to the Device Map Tab, the second option in the Utility Device Manager.
After that you'll be shown a map centered on your meters, now you have two choices when selecting a meter to receive a demand read from. You can either zoom in on a map and select any meter you like or you could use the search filters on the side. To find the filter button just look at the top left of the map and you'll se a button that looks like this:
The filters include Device Type, Device Status and specific search filters to narrow down to a small group or single meter.
Ordering the Read - Device Map Option
After finding the meter you're looking for and clicking on it a Device Details tab should pop up. Here you can see geographical data and identifying information about the selected meter. At the bottom of that tab there is a 'On Demand Read' Button.
Once pressed you will have a few options regarding how much information you'd like the read to have.
After selecting which option you will like, UDM will get in contact with the meter and start the read. UDM will notify you when you make the request, when the read is in progress, when it is being loaded and finally when the read is completed.
Data View Option
When logging into UDM you will need to get to the Data View Tab, the third option in UDM.
After selecting the Data View tab you will see a list of your meters. You can either scroll through the list and select any meter or you can use the filter and search options to the left of the list. You can search the device name, account name and account number while you have the ability to filter by connection status, billing cycle amongst other options.
Ordering the Read - Device Map Option
After selecting the meter you would like, you will be brought into a view of that meter's performance. You want to open up the Actions tab just under the filter category.
After opening up the Actions tab, click the On Demand Read button. Clicking this button will open up 4 options, all of which allow you to get a demand read based in the time frame you request. Options may vary depending on the AMI's integration.
After selecting which option you will like, UDM will get in contact with the meter and start the read. UDM will notify you when you make the request, when the read is in progress, when it is being loaded and finally when the read is completed.
